MicroCylo - LPG Distribution Desktop Application

A cross-platform desktop application for LPG cylinder distributors that keeps the khata, the cylinders and the cash in one place. Built with Java 25, JavaFX and PostgreSQL, it runs offline on the depot owner’s own machine and prints invoices and customer statements on their own letterhead.

Results & Impact

Here's how our solution transformed the client's business and delivered measurable results.

  • One customer account with a running balance, credit limit and a printable khata for any date range, so a disputed balance is settled on paper.
  • Empty cylinders counted per customer rather than in total, so the yard count and the book stop disagreeing.
  • Invoices, statements and reports exported to PDF or Excel on the depot’s own letterhead, and re-headed automatically when the letterhead changes.
  • Money at the gas company tracked in rupees and in cylinders at today’s rate, so the owner knows what is still to collect at the plant.
  • Runs offline on the depot’s own machines with a one-button backup, so the books stay on the premises and the counter keeps working when the internet does not.
  • Credit limits checked at the till and non-cash payments refused without a reference, stopping bad debt and untraceable receipts at entry.
